Province marks 71st anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day

On the afternoon of March 24, provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a get-together for athletes, coaches and leaders of the local sports sector over periods on the occasion of the 71^st anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946-March 27, 2017).

At the get-together, delegates reviewed the 71-year history and development of Vietnam sports sector. The province’s sports sector over the past time made efforts to surmount difficulties and got successes at national sports & international tournaments. In 2016 alone, the sector obtained remarkable achievements. Particularly, Binh Duong Building Materials and Construction Company’s male volleyball team had excellent performance and is ranked as a strong team in 2017. Referee Nguyen Ngoc Chau won the 2016 Golden Whistle award. Lam Van Cuoi grasped a silver medal in the men’s 10-kg weight category at the 2016 World Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships…

On this occasion, 2 individuals and 4 collectives were awarded the certificates of merit of provincial People’s Committee for their excellent performance at national and international sports tournaments.
