Province pays attention to uniting, gathering young workers

Provincial Steering Board of the Project on uniting and gathering young workers for the period of 2016-2020 yesterday held a conference to partially review the three-year implementation of the project with results gained.

In the period of 2016-2018, provincial Steering Board of the Project on uniting and gathering young workers well realized propaganda and orientation for young workers. Sub-unions for young workers in the province also upheld their role in realizing activities taking care of young workers. Especially, the project’s cadres caught young workers’ aspirations for timely support…

Thirty-five outstanding individuals in realizing the project over the past three years honored

As a result, units in the province set up 116 sub-unions for young workers at lodging facilities with 4,966 members; 30 Youth Union branches in non-State enterprises with 567 members; 25 sub-unions for young workers in non-State enterprises with 2,293 members; 10 Youth Union branches for alien youths with 138 members. The steering boards at all levels also paid attention to taking care of the spiritual and material lives of young workers via many practical programs. Particularly, provincial Youth Unions at all levels gave more than 15,000 gifts worth more than VND7billion for young workers; mobilized organizations and individuals to donate 75 houses of compassion, 32 dream houses to Youth Union members and young workers with difficult circumstances; recognized 8 lodging facilities as model youth ones; provided free medical check-ups, medicine and gifts for nearly 20,000 people, young workers and children with difficult circumstances…with a total expense of nearly VND3.5billion…

Pham Chien Thang, Secretary of Di An town’s Youth Union said that over the past 3 years, the town’s Youth Union coordinated with sectors to give care for young workers through many practical activities; teamed up with the town’s traffic police force to deliver more than 10,000 propaganda leaflets on the Law on Road Traffic...to sub-unions for alien young workers.

Cadres consolidated

Tran Bao Lam, Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union said that cadres play an important role in giving timely orientations for young workers. After three years of implementation, the project maintained and developed 386 cadres among young workers. As of late 2018, the number of such cadres amounted to 2,085. The number of volunteers also reached 2,394. They worked with relevant agencies to disseminate the Party’s policies and State’s laws among young workers, made contributions to uniting and gathering young workers. Since 2016, additional 94 young workers were admitted into the Communist Party of Vietnam, lifting the total number of Party members being young workers to 216 as of late 2018.

At the conference, the steering board also acknowledged obstacles in the process of realizing the project…With the strong and quick development of Binh Duong in particular and the whole country in general, young people, especially young workers are facing effects from the society. Hence, provincial Youth Union and associations must always accompany young workers, creating favorable conditions for them to self-train and mature.
