Province reaches stable socio-economic development, creating momentum to fulfill year’s plan

Provincial People’s Committee yesterday held its periodic session in May, 2019. Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee chaired the session together with the participation of Vice-Chairpersons of provincial People’s Committee, representatives of sectors, departments in the province.

Fields with high growth

In May, the province’s index of industrial production surged 11.51% and 16.32% compared to the previous month and the same period last year, respectively. The index over the past five months grew by 7,78% against the corresponding period last year. Of these, mining industry increased by 8.58%; manufacturing and processing by 7.65%; production and distribution of electricity by 24.53%; water supply, waste and sewage treatment by 7.53%. The province also effectively implemented solutions to save electricity, ensuring supply of electricity for the local people and enterprises.

The province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services in May 24, 2019 was more than US$18.49trillion, up 0.6% compared to the previous month and 19.1% against the previous year, respectively. The value over the past five years was more than VND93.18trillion, up 15.5% against the same period last year. Whilst, the province’s index of consumption price during the period surged 2.29% compared to the same period last year.

In May, the province’s export turnover was estimated at US$2.8billion, up 41.4% and 34.7% compared to the previous month and the corresponding period last year. The figure over the past five months was more than US$10.36billion, up 12.2% compared to the same period last year. Some main export products on garment-textile, footwear, woodwork…gained high growth at 17.1%, 13.9%, 13%..., respectively.

Also in May, the whole province absorbed US$190million in FDI capital from 19 new FDI projects and 9 extra-ones…The figure brought the total amount of FDI capital flowing into the province over the past five months to more than US$1.07trillion, up 58% compared to the same period last year and 79.1% against the year’s plan.

The province’s State budget collection in May was US$4.2trillion and the figure over the past five months was VND24.6trillion, up 17% compared to the same period last year or 45% of provincial People’s Council’s estimate. Whilst, the province’s State budget spending in May was VND1trillion and VND4trillion in the first five months of the year, up 8% over the same period or 21% of the year’s estimate.

Well taking solutions

In May, the province sufficiently realized policies for policy beneficiaries, revolutionary contributors on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the Southern Liberation and National Reunification (April 30, 1975-April 30, 2019); organized activities in response to the Action Month on Labor Safety and Hygiene, the Workers’ Month and Young Workers’ Week, the Action Month for Children 2019…

There were also 1,134 enterprises in the province with the recruitment demand of 40,852 laborers, including 30,378 unskilled laborers and 10,474 technicians. In addition, the province’s functional sectors introduced jobs to 6,895 laborers; well realized tasks on healthcare and education; continued maintaining national defence-security; ensured order and security before, during and after the Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30), May Day (May 1)….

Possible seeing, in May, provincial People’s Committee directed the timely implementation of the set tasks, actively handled problems arising from the real situation, contributing to stabilizing development on aspects. As a result, the province continued reaching stable socio-economic development. The province’s industrial manufacture, agricultural production and export-import turnover further gained high growth. Besides, the province continued well realizing social welfare policies; effectively prevented epidemic diseases, ensuring food safety and hygiene; paid more attention to cultural, sports, tourism, information-communication fields…

Concluding the session, Mr.Liem said that sectors, departments and localities need to pay attention to compensation and site clearance for key projects, thereby boosting capital disbursement for public investment. They also need to attach special importance to water drainage and flood prevention in the dry season; prevent epidemic diseases in human beings as well as African hog chorea; strengthen discipline in administrative agencies; implement projects on the establishment of Thuan An city, Di An city…
