Province responds to National Week for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control

Early May 21, provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control in collaboration with Thuan An town’s People’s Committee held a meeting in response to the 2019 National Week for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control with the theme of “Disaster risk reduction starting from the community”.

The event was attended by Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, Head of provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control together with more than 600 delegates.

At the event, participating delegates were heard a letter of Party Secretary General and State President Nguyen Phu Trong on the occasion of the 73^rd anniversary of the National Day for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control (May 22, 2019-May 22, 1946). Speaking at the event, Mr.Dung called for each citizen, each residential community to be proactive to prevent natural disasters; actively take part in training courses on natural disaster prevention and control, contributing to lessening consequences caused by natural disasters.

He also called on all people to seriously comply with regulations against natural disasters if they occur. Especially, province-based schools need to widen knowledge and strengthen skills against natural disasters among pupils.
