Provincial DoIC marks 65th anniversary of traditional day of Vietnam’s publishing, printing and issuing sector

Early October 10, provincial Department of Information and Communications (DoIC) held a ceremony to mark the 65th anniversary of traditional day of Vietnam’s publishing, printing and issuing sector (October 10,1952-October 10, 2017).

Attending the ceremony were Le Huu Phuoc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Education; Le Minh Tri, Head of the Office of the Ministry of Information and Communications; Nguyen Van Dong, Chairman of Vietnam Printing Association, leaders and staff of the sector over periods.

The whole province now has a total of more than 300 enterprises operating in the printing sector with more than 2 billions of printing pages generated annually. There are also 176 facilities publishing books, newspapers and magazines, including 22 large-scale bookstores. They have so far published more than 10 million of various books with more than 50 million of copies together with many kinds of propaganda documents and posters serving the province’s target programs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr.Phuoc emphasized that relevant units in the coming time need to pay attention to enhancing the quality of publishing with political orientation and ideology kept firmly; professionalize publishing, printing and issuing activities; build up a qualified workforce; strengthen State administration over publishing, printing and issuing activities…

On this occasion, provincial DoIC established provincial Printing Association; awarded mementoes “For the cause of information and communications” to 4 outstanding individuals of the sector.
