Provincial Farmers' Association organizes the 9th Congress for the term of 2018-2023

In 2 days of September 13 and 14, the Provincial Farmers Association has held the Congress of Representatives of the Ninth Provincial Farmers' Association for the term of 2018-2023. The meeting was attended by Pham Van Canh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; leaders of the provincial People's Council, Provincial Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front, former provincial leaders throughout the period, representative leaders of farmers associations in some provinces, friends and 297 official delegates.

Last year, the movement "Farmers emulate production, business good, united to help each other to rich, sustainable poverty" has many innovations, quality and efficiency with more than 34,600 households to achieve the title of farmer excellent, reaching 81.5%, exceeding the proposed resolution. From this movement, farmers' associations at all levels in the province directly helped 1,210 farmers escape poverty. The Assembly has participated in building 402 models of rural environmental protection. Over the past years, the association has coordinated with other sectors to organize 269 vocational training courses and more than 80% of trainees have stable jobs. The association organized 5,414 training courses and seminars on techniques of husbandry, cultivation, use of fertilizers and pesticides; Organized model study tours inside and outside the province; Coordinated to organize the demonstration model and approach to the application of science and technology. During the term of office, 72 farms have been accredited to VietGAP standards. They cooperated to build brands such as Bach Dang pomelo, Thanh Thuy pomelo, Lai Thieu mangosteen, Hieu Liem sugarcane, Bac Tan Uyen pomelo. Provincial Farmers Association has directly guided the establishment of 452 models of collective economy to do business effectively.

At the meeting, the Provincial Farmers' Association was honored to receive the excellent emulation flag awarded by the Vietnam Farmers Union Central Committee. The Congress elected 29 delegates to the Executive Board of the Provincial Farmer Association of the 9^th term. Do Ngoc Huy was reelected as chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Union for the term of 2018-2023. The Congress also elected 10 delegates to attend the 7th Congress of the Vietnam Peasants' Association.

On this occasion, 11 individuals received the medal "For the Vietnamese Peasantry"; 10 individuals receiving certificates of merit from the Central Vietnam Farmers' Association; 30 individuals received certificates of merit from the provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the work of the association and the peasant movement in the last term.
