Provincial leader receives Chairman of VGCL

On the afternoon of June 4, Nguyen Dinh Khang, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor  (VGCL) had a working session with Tran Van Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation about the operation of the local Trade Union and the impacts of Covid-19 pandemic on relevant activities. The event was also attended by Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee and leaders of provincial Trade Unions at all levels.

In the first five months of 2020, provincial Youth Unions at all levels well upheld their role in taking of and protecting trade unionists and laborers ‘legitimate rights and interests; actively contributed to social criticism, making policies relating to trade unionists, laborers; carried out democratic regulations and dialogues at working places; negotiated, signed collective labor deals with more profitable provisions to laborers…Provincial Trade Unions at all levels accompanied enterprises, trade unionists and laborers in surmounting difficulties from the Covid-19 pandemic. Provincial Labor Union also instructed relevant units to provide jobless laborers with extremely difficult circumstances, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with the subsidy level of VND500,000 per person. So far, there have been more than 1,700 cases getting VND856million in subsidy; 94 cases with the support of nearly VND670million from provincial Support Fund for Laborers with Extremely Difficult Circumstances. According to statistics, the whole province has had a total of more than 300,000 trade unionists, laborers with support by many forms…

Speaking at the working session, Mr.Nam said that Binh Duong has had a very good plan in Covid-19 prevention and control. Despite difficulties, the province will strive to achieve targets on economic development, social welfare, order-security… Mr.Khang, for his part, spoke highly of the efforts by the province in Trade Union activities and Covid-19 prevention while wanting that provincial Trade Unions at all levels will further make efforts in protecting laborers ‘legitimate rights and interests, maintaining social order and promoting the local economic development in the coming time.
