Provincial leader receives WB representative

Early January 17, at Provincial Administrative Center, Tran Thanh Liem, the Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee received Sudipto Sarkat, the Asia Pacific Water Practice Manager of World Bank (WB).

At the meeting, Sudipto Sarkal said Binh Duong needs to complete the investment procedures to disburse contingency funds, and at the same time promote connection of waste water systems to each household. More attention should be paid to compensation, site clearance and calculation of time, the plan to collect fees to pay for wastewater treatment appropriately.

Speaking at the reception and working session, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the capital that the World Bank has funded for Binh Duong to deploy treatment plant projects. Domestic and drainage wastewater has made an important contribution to the urban development goal of Binh Duong, as well as effectively addressing environmental pollution, improving the quality of life of people.

Chairman of the provincial People's Committee suggested departments and agencies to work closely with Binh Duong Water and Environment Joint Stock Company to quickly implement the World Bank proposals. At the same time, he hoped that in the coming time, the province will continue to receive the support of the World Bank's capital to continue to build more waste water treatment projects in the Northern localities, as well as to upgrade and expand treatment plants and domestic wastewater collection systems in the southern region of the province and urban drainage projects.
