Provincial leader welcomes Indian Consul General

Early January 16, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee received K.Srikar Reddy, Consul General of India in HCM city.

At the reception, Mr.Liem congratulated Mr.K.Sri Reddy on his new position and wished him success in completing all tasks. He also briefly informed the new Consul General of the local socio-economic development. So far, the province has absorbed more than US$28billion in FDI capital with more than 3,000 enterprises from 64 countries and territories. Among the FDI projects in the province, there are 13 from India with a total investment capital of more than US$100million, mainly operating in the field of processing agricultural products. He wanted that the new Consul General will further have good coordination with the province and introduce the local investment climate to Indian enterprises. Provincial leaders have always created advantageous conditions for FDI enterprises, including ones from India to work effectively.

The new Consul General extended New Year greetings to Binh Duong’s leaders and people. He affirmed the fine friendship between Vietnam and India while saying that 2017 was the year making the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations of the two countries. The bilateral trade between Vietnam and India in 2017 reached more than US$10billion, up nearly 30% compared to 2016. The two countries will strive to achieve US$15billion in bilateral trade in 2020.

Mr.K.Srijar Reddy thanked provincial leaders for their efforts in creating favorable conditions for Indian enterprises to work while wanting that the two sides will boost cooperation in the fields of information technology, education, hi-tech agriculture…He also invited provincial leaders to visit India for learning about cooperation opportunities to develop together.
