Provincial Trade Union following Uncle Ho’s teachings

Early May 26, provincial Labor Union organized a ceremony to mark the 130th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (May 19, 1890-May 19, 2020) and the Workers’Month 2020. The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee together with numerous Trade Union officials, workers with extremely difficult circumstances.

 “Following Uncle Ho’s teachings”

Over the past time, studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings, officials, civil servants and workers in the province spared no efforts in training and emulating with practical and effective models for trade unionists and laborers. Among them, the model of “The fund for workers with extremely difficult circumstances” was one of concrete deeds from studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings. So far, the fund has donated VND 921million to 124 needy cases.

Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Chairwoman of provincial Labor Union said that the birth of the fund aims to share difficulties with laborers, helping them surmount difficulties in life. At the ceremony, provincial Labor Union also called for organizations, individuals, Trade Union officials and members,  to further make contributions to the fund, sharing difficulties with disadvantaged laborers while expressing the “mutual love, mutual affection” spirit of Vietnamese working class and Vietnamese people…

Maintaining jobs

The theme of the Workers’Month 2020 is “Maintaning Employment-High Productivity-Labor Safety-Stable Income”. Mrs.Hanh said that the event also aims to deeply and widely disseminate the historical significance of International Labor Day (
May 1,  great contributons by the working class and Trade Union to the national revolutionary process and President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle, thereby affirming the role of the working class and Trade Union in the cause of national industrialization and modernization. In addition, this is  an opportunity for the entire political system, business community to join hands in organize activities taking care of trade unionists, laborers, especially maintaining jobs and stable jobs for them amid Covid-19 pandemic.

At the ceremony, Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee acknowledged, praised creative deeds and contributions by the local cadres in constantly improving the Trade Union’s operational contents and forms at trade unionists and laborers’legitimative aspirations. He also lauded trade unionists and laborers for their efforts in working, contributing to joining hands with the local Party, government and people in building up a more and more prosperous, beautiful and friendly Binh Duong. He wanted that sectors, departments, especially enterprises in the province will further boost propaganda work among laborers, enhancing their awareness of healthcare and well obeying businesses’regulations. Trade Unions at all levels need to coordinate with businesses to seek solutions in order to ensure jobs with stable income for laborers. Whilst, laborers need to further implement the emulation movement of “Working well, working creatively” and join hands with businesses to surmount difficulties, due to Covid-19 pandemic.

In May, provincial Labor Union has instructed its branches to engage in activities taking care of the spiritual and material lives of laborers, especially ones heavily affected by Covid-19 pandemic. So far, more than 1,270 lodging facilities have offered help to lodgers by many forms with a total value of nearly VND5.5billion. Trade Unions at all levels have also mobilized organizations, individuals to support rice, masks…to laborers. According to statistics, there have been more than 300,000 trade unionists supported via many forms…

On this occasion, provincial Labor Union honored 43 collectives and 40 individuals with excellent achievements in Covid-19 prevention and control.
