Bac Tan Uyen is a locality with strength in agricultural development and its area of ​​agricultural production occupies 87,39% of total land area for mainly fruits and livestock. Le Hieu Liem, Deputy Director of Bac Tan Uyen District Economic Department, said that the total area of ​​fruit trees in the area is over 2,034 hectares, including 1,987 hectares of citrus. Of the area of ​​citrus, more than 100 hectares are produced in the direction of VietGAP, of which 61.4 hectares are VietGAP certified, an increase of 34.4 hectares compared to 2016.

According to the assessment of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, since the application of standard production procedures such as VietGAP, the value of agricultural products of Bac Tan Uyen district is increasing and increasing the source of income for people. The fruit orchards here in the period of stable fruit, bringing the average income from 600 million to 1 billion per hectare; Typically, with 12 hectares of grapefruit planted by VietGAP standards of Le Van Xe, owner of Phuong Uyen Farm (Hieu Liem commune) 500 tons of fruit per year; After deducting expenses, his profit nearly 10 billion per year.

Beside fruit trees, Bau Bang district encourages people to apply science and technology to animal husbandry. Liem said that the Economic Department has advised the District People's Committee to consider approving 7/15 establishments, breeding farms to establish enterprises, agricultural establishments applying high technology. Notably, the locality has invited the Hoang Lan chicken farm (Tan Dinh commune) with the scale of 1,600m2 to apply the management system of raising animals according to VietGAP standards, investing in automatic chicken raising system. , with a total investment of over 11.4 billion.

Construction of modern agriculture

According to the assessment, although the production level of households in the area of ​​Bac Tan Uyen district has been improved, many advanced techniques have been applied and the automation and mechanization of agricultural production have been applied. Localities are still limited, production is not sustainable. To solve this problem, in the coming time, the district will pay attention to raising the scientific and technological level to agriculture in the direction of intensifying the transfer and application of technical advances in intensive farming, pest control and product registration, developed in accordance with VietGAP standards to improve productivity, quality, and food safety. On such basis, localities have built modern agriculture, high technology and raising income for farmers.

According to the leader of Bac Tan Uyen district, the association for agricultural product output in the area is limited, no contract of consumption of medium-term or long-term products. Up to now, the district will intensify the promotion and commercial promotion of orange and pomelo products of Bac Tan Uyen; At the same time, to study and propose to adjust the promulgated policies which are no longer suitable to the reality in order to encourage and support the development of hi-tech agriculture. Local authorities also accelerate the implementation of construction projects, management and development of Collective Trademarks for Bac Tan Uyen.

In addition to accelerating the application of scientific and technological advances to citrus cultivation, Bau Bang district is currently implementing models of safe leaf vegetables production in greenhouses, banana and rice production model towards VietGAP.
