All the steps comprehensively prepared

As noted by reporters, at Covid-19 vaccination sites of the provincial Centers for Disease Control, Center for Reproductive Health Care, General Hospital, and Thu Dau Mot city and Ben Cat town, the vaccination implementation has been done well by the units according to the plans and projections.

Vaccination sites were arranged on the principle of one-way contact. In particular, the units arranged and prepared resuscitation and emergency units to promptly handle cases with severe reactions after the injection. Pre-injection screening was done seriously and fully according to regulations of Ministry of Health. Previously, health workers in each unit were also trained to vaccinate Covid-19 to ensure safety, effectiveness and not wasting vaccines. Before and during the vaccination process, Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control arranged the teams to inspect and supervise the preparation of immunization conditions.

At the injection site of Reproductive Health Center, in this phase, the center was responsible for giving anti-epidemic frontline medical staff of 6 units with 108 doses of Covid-19 vaccines. In order for the implementation of Covid-19 vaccination to take place safely and effectively, the center has arranged an injection table with all the necessary means and techniques to closely monitor the injected person. Before the injection, the medical staff and nurses were thoroughly screened. If there was cough, fever or difficulty breathing, the injection was not performed.

Meanwhile, at the vaccination site of the provincial Center for Disease Control, in the morning of May 4, it was expected to inject 100 officers and soldiers from Phu Hoa Prison and An Phuoc Prison (from Phu Giao district). All officers participating in vaccination were experienced in vaccination and have been trained for Covid-19 vaccination. Injected subjects were instructed to self-monitor their health after vaccination. If there were severe reactions after vaccination, they could call directly to the center for prompt handling instructions.

Safety and schedule ensured

Dr. Tran Van Chung, Deputy Director of the provincial Center for Disease Control, said that through the supervision of the pre-vaccination and vaccination process, the preparation at the units was quite thoughtful. The units have actively developed plans and fully prepared the conditions for human resources, physical foundations, medical facilities, equipment and instruments. The injection area was arranged reasonably and scientifically in one direction including all areas of reception, screening, wait for injection, injection, and post-injection monitoring. In addition, facilities, drugs, shock-absorbing fluids, and breathing apparatus were available to promptly respond to emergency situations.

To promote safe and effective vaccination, Binh Duong has used the existing expanded vaccination system. Medical centers of districts, towns and cities are the focal points to organize the implementation of Covid-19 vaccination plan in the area. Dr. Nguyen Hong Chuong, Director of Department of Health, said that, according to the decision to distribute Covid-19 vaccination in phase 2, Binh Duong was allocated 15,100 doses of Astra Zeneca vaccine by Ministry of Health, which was completed by the global Covid-19 Vaccine Program (COVAX) aid. In order to vaccinate Covid-19 to the front-line forces for disease prevention and control on schedule and to complete the plan before May 31, Binh Duong conducted at 3 levels including the province, district, and commune levels.

Specifically, at the provincial level, the provincial General Hospital, the provincial Center for Disease Control and public hospitals are available. At the district level, it will be implemented in 9 districts, towns, cities and 91 communes, wards and towns in the province. Also in this phase, in addition to deploying vaccination to priority subjects according to the government's Resolution 21/NQ-CP, Binh Duong continued to give the second injection to those who had received the first round enough time from 4 weeks or more,”said Dr. Chuong.
