State management over sci-tech field to be promoted in 2017

Provincial Department of Science and Technology (DoST), on January 18, held a conference to review its activities in 2016 and devise orientations for 2017, in attendance of Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

 Provincial DoST last year sorted out 13 tasks on sci-tech research and development and submitted them to provincial People’s Committee for approval; held a meeting to perfect the proposal of 2 national-level sci-tech tasks; well realized activities on sci-tech application with a total revenue estimated at more than VND4.5billion or 145% of the year’s plan…

In 2017, the department will focus on sci-tech research and development subjects regarding environmental protection and climate change, mechanism, agricultural production…

Addressing the conference, Mr.Hung praised the sector for its achievements in 2016. To fulfill 2017’s tasks, he suggested provincial DoST to effectively realize State management over sci-tech field with subjects that must be associated with reality, map out policies to absorb qualified human resources to serve the local sci-tech activities…”The department has to be proactive to work with relevant agencies in implementing contents of the province’s scheme on smart city development under the cooperation model between the State, businesses and scientists”, he emphasized.
