For more than a week, since knowing information about the complicated development of the pandemic, the ward’s People's Committee has immediately stopped large gatherings, including soya milk and tea selling shops around the 6-way intersection, where hundreds of young people gather until late at night. Besides, the ward has also suspended the operation of vendors on Bach Dang street. Entertainment spots and parks around the central area of the city are no longer crowded…

Nguyen Van Sang, Chairman of Phu Cuong Ward People's Committee, said: “In order to well realize Covid-19 prevention and control in the new context, the local People's Committee has early established a group propagandizing, mobilizing people to implement measures against the pandemic under the 5K message of the Ministry of Health; propagandized people not to gather in big groups, wear face masks in public places and resolutely handled intentional violations, aiming to prevent the pandemic in the most effective manner. The ward's radio station has often disseminated and mobilized people to best implement measures against the pandemic”.

On the evening of March 8, the ward's patrol team checked main roads and parks, namely Bach Dang, Nguyen Du, Phu Cuong to mobilize and remind people to carry out measures against the pandemic. The team fined 10 cases for not wearing face masks in public places. Each case without wearing a mask is fined at VND2million. Mr. Sang added that Phu Cuong ward is not only a central ward with high concentration of population, but also a place where thousands of small business households operate. Therefore, if the ward neglects in Covid-19 prevention and control, consequences from the pandemic will be very unpredictable. In the coming days, the ward will continue disseminating, especially carry out patrols, reminding small traders to wear face masks while doing business. On the evening of May 5, the ward’s inter-sectoral patrol force will patrol, remind, and strictly punish people gathering in public places, not wearing face masks. Especially, the ward will also check business establishments in the list of suspension services. If any business establishments do not comply with the regulation, the inspection team will make penalty records for them.
