Taking care of young workers on Tet

Provincial Youth Unions at all levels have actively organized cultural-art activities for young workers, especially away-from-home ones, aiming to bring them a joyful and significant Tet.

As planned, provincial Youth Union Standing Committee will organize a “Meal for Tet” program and a “Motivating the Year of Rooster 2017” program at Ben Cat town-based 30/4 square with significant contents for young workers who are not able to return home for Tet, including reviewing the 10-year implementation of the Fund for Poor Alien Young Workers, launching a singing contest for young workers, presenting gifts to young workers with difficult circumstances…Especially, a “Lunar New Year’s Eve” program for alien young workers will be organized at provincial Support Center for Young Workers on December 29 of lunar calendar. Here, they will have a chance to cook “banh tet, “banh chung” (traditional glutinous rice cakes) and take part in many other significant activities.

On January 15 and 20, provincial Youth Union will organize a delegation to visit model youth lodging facilities in Di An, Thuan An towns and TDM city; hold “banh tet”, “banh chung” making contests for young workers and present 1 “dream” room to a young worker with difficult circumstance in Di An town. Provincial Support Center for Young Workers will also organize a “Gathering in Tet holiday” program for the “Connecting young workers” clubs 1, 2 and 3 with such animated activities as “banh chung”, “banh tet” making, Tet fashion design by recycled materials, apricot and peach blossom arrangement…The program will continue being organized at the park of Di An Dépôt statue in Di An town’s Di An ward for families and members of the “Connecting young workers” Clubs 4 and 5.

Di An town’s Youth Union has also conducted its branches to organize Tet programs for young workers at the People’s Committees of wards or at lodging facilities with many significant activities, including extending Tet greetings, presenting Tet gifts to young workers with difficult circumstances; holding art performances, lucky draw programs, end-year parties…

Whilst, Tan Uyen town’s Youth Union will coordinate with the town’s Center for Culture-Information to organize cultural-art activities for alien workers and delegations to visit young workers who are not able to return home for Tet. The town’s Youth Union will also team up with provincial Youth Union to give gifts for cadres who are in charge of a task of uniting and gathering youths.

From social resources, provincial Youth Union’s year-end activities aim to take care of young workers. Cultural-art activities will be a useful playground for young workers, especially away-from-home ones, bringing them a warm Tet
