Tan Uyen’s collective economy promoted

Tan Uyen town’s Steering Board of Collective Economic Innovation and Development has strengthened the implementation of support policies on tax, credit, land…for the local collective economic development. The town has attached special importance to improving the effectiveness of cooperatives, cooperative groups in each field in line with the local situation, contributing to increasing members and laborers’ income, well upholding the role of collective economy in the market-oriented economy.

Positive changes

Tan Uyen town is now home to 17 cooperatives on agriculture, trade-service, transportation-construction and home industry. Since early this year, they have continued reaching positive changes. Their total revenue in the past nine months was estimated at VND100billion with the average income of members reaching between VND5million and VND6million per person per month.

The town also has a total of 22 cooperative groups on agriculture with more than 240 members. Their total revenue over the past nine months was estimated at VND13.6billion with the average income of VND4million per person per month, a year-on-year increase of 2017. It is known that they mainly operate in the agricultural field.

Nguyen Huu Tri, Vice-Secretary of Tan Uyen town’s Party Committee cum Head of the town’s Steering Board of Collective Economic Innovation and Development said that thanks to the timely instruction and attention of provincial Steering Board of Collective Economic Innovation-Development and Cooperative Alliance, the town achieved positive changes in collective economic development over the past time. However, there are now some shortcomings in this sector for change.

From now till year-end, the town’s Steering Board of Collective Economic Innovation and Development will further create advantageous conditions for newly-established cooperatives and cooperative groups to get loans under provincial People’s Committee’s Decision No.31/2017/QD-UBND regulating a number of support policies for collective economic development in the province for the period of 2018-2020; fulfill the conversion of Tan Ba cooperative under the Cooperation Law in 2012. The town will also strive to set up the local People’s Credit Fund by 2020.

Upholding effectiveness of agricultural cooperative model

Tan Nong Phat cooperative was established by the end of 2015 under the Cooperative Law in 2012. Clean rice is one of the cooperative’s main products With a total area of 40,000 square meters, the cooperative’s rice-field with 2 varieties VD 20 and OM 4900 reaches 2 crops per year with the average productivity of 3.6-3.8 tons of rice per hectare.

The cooperative is also home to 4,000 square meters of safe vegetables with 5 net-houses. In the coming time, the cooperative is expected to expand its cultivation area by 10,000 square meters for pomelo growing.

As oriented, processing and consumption of agricultural products is one of the town’s priority fields for collective economic development. Tan Nong Phat cooperative is a typical unit for this and has initially gained positive results.

Ho Van Phat, Director of the cooperative said that the cooperative’s total revenue over the past nine months was estimated at VND72million. The main objective of the cooperative is to bring safe meals to people, promoting agricultural products of Tan Uyen town’s Thanh Hoi island. The success of the cooperative is seen as a motivation for the locality to foster more effective models in supplying the market with clean foods in the coming time.
