Tan Uyen Town Labor Confederation to enhance prevention, combat against cigarette smoking's harm

To implement official document of Provincial Labor Confederation on strengthening the enforcement of Law on prevention, combat against cigarette smoking's harm, Labor Confederation of Tan Uyen Town built up a plan to prevent and combat the harmful effects of cigarette smoking among workers, officials in 2020.

In order to further enhance workers' awareness of the harmful effects of cigarette smoking and benefits of smoke-free environment, the town Labor Confederation directed grassroots trade unions to enhance propaganda, dissemination among union members, workers about Law on prevention and combat against cigarette smoking's harm, the right of non-smokers, responsibilities of smokers, harmful effects of cigarette smoking on people's health, environment and the economy. In particular, grassroots trade unions integrated the building of a smoke-free environment into movements of their units, cultural enterprises; encouraged union members and workers who smoke to voluntarily give up, comply with regulations on cigarette smoking in public places, workplace.

This activity contributed to the development of a smoke-free  working environment, protecting the community's health.
