Tan Uyen town receives certificate of ranking Duong Van Ho antique house

November 17, Tan Uyen town People’s Committee coordinated with Binh Duong provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a ceremony receiving certificate of ranking Duong Van Ho antique house as provincial historical and cultural relics.

Duong Van Ho is a large and prominent wooden house located within green orchard at Dieu Hoa hamlet, Bach Dang commune in Tan Uyen town. The house was constructed by Tran Huu Nham, father-in-law of Duong Van Ho, in 1911-1914. The house was constructed by the shape of ding-letter of Chinese by skillful carpenters from the middle land of Vietnam. The house structure is all wood of ying-yang roof and red brick floor. The house frame was fixed in wood, showing the skills and talents of old-time carpenters who presented artistic works of sculpture of the South.

Despite over 100 years of existence, the house was intact with the initial artistic and architectural values. For the retained values, Binh Duong provincial People’s Committee on May 28, 2020, decided to certify Duong Van Ho antique house as a provincial historical and cultural relic. The certification opens up basis for local authority to implement the protection and promotion of the relic values for the time to come.
