Ten-year implementation of the Law on Gender Equality and the Politburo’s resolution on women task in the period of accelerated industrialization, modernization under review

Early July 19, provincial Women’s Union forwarded a conference to review its activities in the first half of 2017,  the 10-year implementation of the Law on Gender Equality and the Politburo’s Resolution No.11/NQ-TW on women task in the period of accelerated industrialization, modernization.

Attending the event were Nguyen Thi Ngoc Yen, Head of the Southern Department of the Central Committee of Vietnam Women’s Union; Nguyen Thanh Liem, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

Reportedly, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels focused on implementing the resolutions of the national Women’s Union congress; upheld the role of women in building new rural areas via models on supporting women in economic development, building happy families with “5 No-s, 3 Clean-s”… in the first half of 2016.

Over the past 10 years, provincial Women’s Union also well realized the Law on Gender Equality, contributing to upholding women’s talent, promoting them to take part in the cause of national construction and development…Implementing the Politburo’s Resolution No.11/NQ-TW on women task in the period of accelerated industrialization, modernization, there were also positive changes together with deeper awareness of the role, position and importance of the task.

Speaking at the conference, Mr.Hung spoke highly of the local women’s movements over the past time and saying that they made contributions to the local cause of construction and development. Provincial Women’s Unions at all levels need to further bring into full play their key role in women task and gender equality cause; better realize their functions of taking care of women and protecting their legitimate rights-interests. In the coming time, they need to continue improving the quality of emulation movements, building a more and more powerful organization.
