Third central-level consultative conference adopts list of 205 candidates for NA

*Binh Duong approves list of 13 candidates for NA and 119 candidates for People's Council 

The third consultative conference held by the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee in Hanoi on April 16 adopted a final list of 205 eligible candidates nominated by central agencies and organisations for the upcoming election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA).

Chairing the conference, President of the VFF Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the National Election Council (NEC) Do Van Chien said the second consultative conference on March 19 compiled a preliminary list of 205 candidates nominated by central agencies for the 15th NA election.

They are among 1,083 candidates running for seats in the legislature, which also include 888 people nominated by local organisations and units and 75 self-nominated candidates. The ratio of candidates to deputies now stands at 2.19…

*On the afternoon of April 16, provincial Fatherland Front Standing Committee held its third consultation conference to make a list of qualified candidates for the 15th NA and the 10^th provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 tenure. Attending the conference were Vo Van Minh, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council, Chairman of provincial Election Commission; Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee and leaders of provincial NA deputy delegation, People's Council, departments, and sectors in the province.

Reportedly, as of April 11, there were 86 conferences to collect voters’opinions on 16 candidates for the 15^th NA and 121 candidates for the 10^th provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 tenure at their places. In addition, provincial Fatherland Front Standing Committee instructed Phu Giao district’s Fatherland Front Standing Committee to organize a conference to collect voters’opinions on priest Nguyen Van Rien, Vice-President, General Secretary of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee, Chairman of provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee, a candidate for  the 15^th NA, nominated by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.

Based on the criteria of the NA and the People's Council deputies, the third consultative conference adopted the list of 13 candidates for the 15^th NA and 119 candidates for provincial People's Council for the 2021- 2026 tenure. The conference unanimously voted 1 alternate candidate for the 10^th provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 tenure.

After the third consultative conference, the province will make an official list of candidates for the 15^th National Assembly and the 10th provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 tenure.
