“Through Viet Bac Heritage Sites” tourism program kicks off in Lang Son

The 11th version of the "Through Viet Bac heritage sites" tourism program is beginning in the northern city of Lang Son, with a wide range of activities on offer to visitors.

The program is an annual activity aiming to promote the land, people, culture, and tourism potential of the six provinces in the Viet Bac region.

The event presents a diverse range of activities such as a workshop introducing destinations and typical tourism products around Viet Bac and China’s Guangxi province, a survey of local tours, a contest that seeks talented tour guides, and a number of competitive sporting activities

This year’s occasion has also seen Lang Son province unveil a decision made by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to recognise the Sli singing of the province’s Nung ethnic group as part of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Lo Thi Tam of the Management Board of the Tan Trao Historic, Cultural and Ecological Tourist Area in Tuyen Quang province, stated that the tourism program serves to provide quality tours to the northeastern provinces. In addition, tours that focus on the local environment allow visitors the opportunity to gain an insight into the country’s historical value.
