Thuan An’s 5th sports festival kicks off

Thuan An town yesterday held a ceremony to open its 5^th sports festival, in attendance of Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; leaders of provincial Department of Culture-Sports and Tourism together with leaders of Thuan An town and wards belonging to the town.

Speaking at the ceremony, Huynh Thi Thanh Phuong, Vice-Chairwoman of Thuan An town’s People’s Committee, Head of the organizing board of the festival affirmed that Thuan An is one of the province’s localities with strong development in terms of sports movement. The festival will contribute to promoting the movement of “The entire people take exercises following the great example of Uncle Ho”, thereby discovering and training outstanding athletes to attend provincial-level tournaments in the coming time.

The festival includes 18 events, 13 of which were organized for competition. The remaining events (football, table tennis, Taichi, tug-of-war) will take place from now till late October, 2017.
