Thuan An town spend over VND12 billion on repairing dykes and canals

On September 13, People's Council of Thuan An town approved report on the examination on investment project of repairing dykes and canals managed by local authorities.

According to the report, Economic Chamber of Thuan An Township was the investor of 7 reinforced irrigation works of upgrading dykes, settling flooding in communes and wards with total capital of VND12.37 billion, and total length of irrigation works is 2,800m. At present, 6/7 works are under construction, 1/7 works are under bidding and expected to be executed in September 2018. 3/7 works are completed; 3/7 works completed 40-70% of the progress. In addition, in 2018, the Economic Department of the town carried out dredging, covering 7 lines of dykes and canals with a total cost of VND5.59 billion funded by provincial disaster preventing fund. At the same time, the town continued executing the scheme of fishing out water hyacinth (stage 3 – 2018) across the town with total cost of VND2.8 billion funded by local environmental fund.
