To develop green and sustainable industry

For many years, Binh Duong has always focused on investing into building infrastructure of industrial parks in a synchronous and modern direction. Currently, the province is building and developing green and high-tech industrial parks to improve production value, to develop sustainably, and create motivation for investment attraction.

Green and high-tech development

Over the past years, Binh Duong has focused on attracting investment resources to build and develop the infrastructure of industrial parks in a modern and synchronous direction by thoroughly treating waste water, emissions, and solid waste as required owners to infrastructure investment, enterprises in the instrictly comply with the provisions of the law on environment. Many industrial zones have been built with modern infrastructure, meeting international standards to become a model of the whole nation for bearing the mark and brand of Binh Duong province. Along with investors always striving to improve the ecosystem serving industry, the provincial government has always closely cooperated with infrastructure investment enterprises in planning, compensation, site clearance, as well as investment intto infrastructure as well as one-stop services in industrial zones.

In order to develop sustainable industry and create production breakthrough, the infrastructure is fundamental for the formation of an innovation ecosystem for attracting investment with highly added value by creating premise for production. By high technology, Binh Duong has developed the project of "innovation zone", in which, a science and technology industrial park is built in Bau Bang district. According to the scheme, in the new period, Binh Duong locates a new segment, which is industrial development associated with scientific and technological development and innovation.

As the leading industrial park and urban area infrastructure developer in the province by creating a comprehensive ecosystem for development, Becamex IDC has focused on planning green industrial parks that are interwoven with urban areas for marketing, commerce and services. Becamex IDC always identifies environmental protection associated with the comprehensive development process not only for today but also for future generations. Up to now, Becamex IDC has planted more than 1.5 million trees of all kinds throughout the province. In 2020 alone, the corporate has planted 50,000 trees , 50,000 square meters of flowers, and grass. Currently, Becamex IDC has planted and nurtured more than 200,000 trees of all kinds to prepare for the planting plan in 2021, that is ready to supply to localities and units in the province when needed. It is expected that in 2021, Becamex IDC will plant 80,000 trees and 100,000 square meters of flowers of all kinds.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Becamex IDC, said: “Becamex IDC, with its human-centered ecosystem for all strategies, construction and development of green industrial parks and green cities, always puts the work of the company first. Environmental protection is the top priority on building the image of green, clean and beautiful Binh as one of the livable localities of the region. In order to affirm our responsibility to the environment, in the past time, we have applied and been certified for environmental management system of ISO 14001:2015 for all urban areas and industrial zones. Also in the requirements of ISO standards, tree planting has become a regular activity for many years at projects managed by Becamex IDC to achieve very good results.”

Cooperation and investment attraction enhanced

In order for the industry to develop sustainably and be reliable and attractive for investors, the province has timely and effectively implemented policies on socio-economic development and international integration. In addition to focusing on mobilizing all resources for construction investments for completing technical infrastructure, improving the investment environment, and creating the most favorable conditions for businesses to invest and operate with peace of mind, Binh Duong has strengthened international cooperation and attracted large, prestigious and branded corporations to cooperate and invest by promoting industrial development towards modernity of the 4th industrial revolution.

Some strong brands are present in Binh Duong such as Sembcorp Group (from Singapore), Tokyu (from Japan), NTT (from Japan), Warburg Pincus Investment Fund (from USA), Bonfiglioli Group (from Italy) and so on. Binh Duong is currently ranked 3rd in the nation for attracting foreign investment capital after Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi. Up to now, the province has attracted 3,974 projects with a total registered investment capital of USD 36.5 billion, accounting for about 9% of the total investment capital of the nation. Despite the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, Binh Duong has still made a breakthrough to attract USD 1.25 billion in foreign investment in the first 5 months of 2021.

Mr. Kim Won Sik, Chairman of the Korean Investment Business Association in Binh Duong, said: “I highly appreciate the infrastructure of industrial zones in the province, especially the industrial parks of Becamex IDC. The industrial parks of the province have well met the requirements of investors for having synchronous infrastructure and transportation connecting to the outside and connecting the region conveniently to facilitate the goods of enterprises to move smoothly and quickly.”
