Update: 20-09-2018 | 11:48:45

Due to the implementation of Decision No. 567 dated 28 Apr 2010 of the Prime Minister, Directive No. 10 dated 16 Apr 2012 of the Prime Minister, and Circular 09/2012 of Ministry of Construction on regulations on using of unbaked building materials in construction projects. Binh Duong province has increased the use of unbaked building materials and restricted baked clay bricks. Initial results showed that the implementation of the above guideline in the province achieved satisfactory results.

The participation of many businesses

Pursuant to the direction of the Prime Minister and Ministry of Construction, Binh Duong province issued Directive No. 05/2013 on increasing the use of unbaked building materials and restricted baked clay bricks in the province. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hao, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Construction, said that in order to encourage and enhance the use of unbaked materials, the province promulgated Directive No. 08 dated 20 Mar 2018 and Plan No. 1961 dated 11 May 2018 on implementing the roadmap to reduce the production and use of baked clay bricks.

At present, many enterprises are developing the production of unbaked construction materials, including Hass Joint Stock Company, Binh Duong Star Company, Binh Duong Water and Environment Joint Stock Company… with a capacity of 350 million bricks per year.

Experts assert that the use of unbaked materials in construction will contribute to reducing construction costs and environmental protection. In photo: An unbaked brick factory of Binh Duong Water and Environment Joint JSC at South Binh Duong solid waste treatment plant.

Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Sales Director of Hass JSC, said that in order to encourage the innovation of building materials, the company invested $10 million in a factory producing unbaked bricks (GKN) according to German technology in Thanh Phuoc ward, Tan Uyen town. Main GKN products of the company include Block, U Block, O Block, wall bricks, floor tiles... In addition, the company also supplies construction materials such as mortar, plaster. The company's products have been used in many projects in and outside the province, such as Aeon Mall Binh Duong, Vincom Can Tho, Children's Hospital 3, VTV Khanh Hoa…

To reduce production of baked bricks

The roadmap of reducing baked clay brick production was implemented in the province from 2005 to 2014, in which terminated the operation of brick production establishments with backward technologies, such as manual kiln, Hoffman kiln. Ms. Hao said that in 2005 the province completed the relocation of all kilns from residential areas in populated towns and; in 2010, ended operations of manual brick kilns and by the end of the third quarter 2016 ended Hoffman kilns.

To gradually reduce the production and use of baked clay in the province, according to Plan 1961 on 11 May 2018 of Binh Duong province, tuynel production technology will be applied from 2018-2020 and after 2020. Accordingly, the province set up a list of time limits for 41 tuynel brick kilns with commitments till 2020 in the province.

In addition to promoting propagation to help facilities and people better understand and use unbaked construction materials instead of clay brick to save energy, protect the environment, reduce construction time..., the province has accelerated the implementation of policies supporting enterprises and production establishments, which have conditions to renovate technologies and production equipment. According to Department of Science and Technology, GKNs actually use some of baked materials for bonding. Therefore, in the coming time, the department will collaborate with relevant units to find better technology solutions suitable to the size of each enterprise and production base, and propose enterprises, which have successfully employed new technologies in unbaked material production, to share experiences as well as technology selection.
