The province has 3 suppliers of clean water. In which, Binh Duong Water-Environment JSC has 7 water supply plants for urban and rural areas, with total capacity of 450,000 m3/day and night, the backup groundwater 20,000 m3/day and night, actual capacity of 460.000 m3/day. Raw water source is mainly from Saigon River, Dong Nai River, Phuoc Hoa Lake, and on-the-spot groundwater with the total pipeline length of 4.100 km and 260,000 connections. Binh Duong Water-Environment JSC invested and put into use water supply projects for Di An, urban complex zone, South Thu Dau Mot, My Phuoc urban and industrial zone, Bau Bang industrial park... Binh Duong is preparing for the project of North Binh Duong water supply with capacity of 1,000,000 m³/day and night; Pipeline for distribution of clean water is gradually covering industrial zones, industrial clusters, urban areas, water loss rate decreased from 30% to < 6%.

In addition, Investment, exploitation center of irrigation and rural clean water (the Center) is managing, operating 31 clean water supply and connecting projects in 30 communes of the province. Dau Tieng District has 12 works, Phu Giao District 10 works, North Tan Uyen District 6 works, Tan Uyen Town 2 works and Bau Bang District 1 works. To strengthen water resource management and protection

To carry out the management and protection of water resources, PPC carried out an investigation of water resource management. The province built and approved the water resource planning phase 2016-2025; issued a list of prohibited areas, restricted areas on groundwater extraction.

In addition, the monitoring and supervision of water resources received much attention. Currently the province has 36 groundwater monitoring works. In order to expand the scope of monitoring, make accurate, timely assessment, in 2020 the province continues to build 18 underground water monitoring works; wells are equipped with automatic monitoring and transmit data connection devices to regularly and timely monitor, assess groundwater movements; At the same time, asked groundwater extractors with a scale greater than 200m3/day must mount automatic observation and data connection devices to monitoring center of Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

Besides, Department of Natural Resources and Environment is carrying out 34 surface water monitoring points across the province to assess the current situation and consider changes in surface water quality on rivers, canals and branches of Dong Nai and Sai Gon River flowing through Binh Duong territory. The department periodically monitors once per month according to national technical standards of surface water quality.

In addition, the province investigates and assesses the impact of potential pollution sources of groundwater and propose protection measures; survey and build database to assess load capacity and forecast water quality of canals, rivers, streams in the province; check the current situation of extraction and use of water resources in the province. In 2020, the province makes a plan to protect water resources to integrate into the province's general plan for period 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050.
