To implement the project of one product per commune

In the morning of July 30, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development organized the implementation of the Provincial Program of One Commune One Product (OCOP) in 2020.

OCOP is a program of economic development in rural areas towards promoting internal resources and added value. The focus of the program is the development of agricultural, non-agricultural products and services with advantages in each locality along the value chain. The subjects of the program are implemented by enterprises, production households and collective economy. The State aims to develop regions producing goods and services; manage and supervise product quality, support training, technical training, credit, branding, trade promotion, product promotion.

Currently, there are 51 oout of 91 communes, wards and towns in the province with participants and potential products, including 105 products in 5 groups such as: Food, beverages, pharmaceuticals; souvenir, interior and decoration; rural tourism services etc. Of these, 31 products are produced by small and medium enterprises, 27 products are produced by cooperatives, the rest are cooperative groups and business households. Outstanding, there are 5 potential 4-star products such as bananas, melon, solar-drying bananas of U&I Company; Cuong Phat flower pots and ceramics have 30 potential 3-star products, 70 potential 1-2-star products.

The goal of this program is that by the end of 2020, about 500 small and medium-sized enterprises and cooperatives will join the program. OCOP has been implemented, contributing to reorganizing production and restructuring the province's agriculture sector towards increasing added value and sustainable development.
