To intensify gender equality propagation

On Nov 12, provincial Board for Women Advancement held a launching ceremony and a talk on action month for gender equality and violence prevention control on the basis of gender equality in the province in 2020, with the theme "Ending violence against women and children".

The Binh Duong Gender Equality Program for 2016-2020 period achieved remarkable results. Specifically, policies and regulations on gender equality were widely disseminated among all people in the province; the percentage of women participating at party committees and people's councils at all levels of next term was higher than previous term; the annual employment rate of women was over 59%; the sex ratio at childbirth was controlled below 106 boys/100 girls; 100% of victims of violence and violent people were consulted, supported or dealt with...

Nguyen Ngoc Hang, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, said that the launching ceremony of Action Month for Gender Equality and Violence Prevention based on gender equality 2020 was the highlight to enhance gender equality propagation, attract attention of the whole society on the implementation of gender equality, preventing violence against women and children, thereby raising awareness of women and children's rights to equality in family and society. With the theme "Ending violence against women and children", this year, in addition to gender equality dissemination among agencies, units, organizations and people in the province, violations of gender equality will be handled severely.
