To keep enhancing the prevention and combat of Covid-19

 A critical mission

Due to the rapid spread of Covid-19 in the world, to implement the instructions of Central Government and provincial leadership, Phu Giao district considered the prevention and combat of Covid-19 as one of the atop missions.  Tran Hong Dung, Vice Chairwoman of Phu Giao District People's Committee, Deputy Head of district Covid-19 Steering Committee, said: “The prevention and combat of Covid-19 in the area concerns the District Party Committee and People's Committee, is closely and timely monitored and directed. The Covid-19 is spreading rapidly, dangerously, and could spread to Binh Duong in general and Phu Giao district in particular, directly affecting human health. Therefore, we identify that this is an extremely important urgent task and must concentrate all resources to ensure the epidemic prevention, fighting to be proactive and ready”.

After Provincial People’s Committee held an online meeting to direct the prevention and combat of Covid-19 in the area, People's Committee of Phu Giao district promptly directed all departments, unions, localities gather all resources to performs these tasks. The District People's Committee issued a plan to respond to the Covid-19 in the district. In addition, Steering Committees from the district to communes were also established according to the directive of provincial Steering Committees. After its establishment, Steering Committees of all levels met to implement the plan, assign specific tasks to specialized departments and unions as well as each member of the Steering Committees. In order to be proactive and timely grasp the situation, the district Steering Committee also issued plans to inspect and monitor the prevention and fighting against Covid-19.

Depending on the assigned tasks, departments, unions and localities quickly started the work with specific and practical activities. Doctor Nguyen Thanh Nguyen, Director of Phu Giao District Medical Center, said that according to the direction, the prevention and combat of epidemics in the locality were implemented, and the center took the initiative, prepare material facilities, equipment, medical supplies and personnel to be ready to cope with potential epidemics. In addition, the district health center developed its own response plan for the health sector; set up an anti-epidemic emergency team and two anti-epidemic rescue teams; directed medical stations in the area to advise commune and town People's Committees to establish 11 communal disease prevention teams. Since Feb beginning, quick response teams of epidemic prevention have organized strictly 24/24 on duty.

To drastically take part in the combat

In recent days, although the epidemic situation in Phu Giao district has been well controlled with the spirit of "fighting against epidemic like fighting against the enemy" according to the Prime Minister, the district leadership and the district Steering Committee thoroughly and strictly implemented and directed relevant departments, unions not to be subjective and underestimate the situation. Covid-19 preventing and combating activities are further strengthened by the leadership in the whole area.

Doctor Nguyen Thanh Nguyen added: “Under the direction of the District People's Committee, on February 2, Medical Center collaborated with Education and Training Office and Military Command of the district to spray disinfectant chemicals at 61/61 public schools. On 8 Feb, we continued to disinfected the District Party Committee, OSS sections of District People's Committee, District Police, District Military Command, 271 Army quarter, AgriBank, headquarters of 11 communes, towns and 15 childcare groups in the area". Under the direction of provincial Department of Health and the District People's Committee, the District Medical Center collaborated with the District Military Command to organize spraying of disinfectant chemicals at venues of the military service. In addition, there were also adequate medical masks and necessary tools, drugs and medical equipment to ensure that all delegates and enlisted young persons would receive facemasks; organized measurement of body temperature for all enlisted men on the military reception day.

Right from the beginning of the epidemic, the communication on disease prevention and combat in the district area has been focused and strengthened. In this work, all departments, unions and localities implemented many forms of propagation to provide timely information, orientation, and help people to well implement preventive measures to themselves, their family and the community. Information on disease situation, recommendations on disease prevention and combat of the health sector are disseminated daily and continuously on radio system of the district, communes and towns.

As of 14 Feb, Phu Giao District Youth Union distributed 600 leaflets and distributed 800 medical masks to students and people. The District Women's Union distributed more than 5,700 leaflets and 2,250 free medical masks to women and people; organized 103 sessions to communicate the prevention and combat of epidemics for women, young women and workers in the area. District Office of Culture and Information hung 15 banners on main roads. Market Management Team also organized dissemination, and supervised the signing of commitments with pharmacies in the area to not making unreasonable price increases, listing prices and selling at the listed prices for face masks, medical gloves, and antiseptics. The district Labor Confederation also directed grassroots trade unions to monitor and supervise members, who returned from their hometown after Tet holiday, especially those in epidemic areas; opened 10 communication sessions for officials and workers of companies in the area, with more than 4,000 attendees; distributed 1,000 leaflets to workers in companies in the area...
