To proactively prevent and combat influenza A in poultry and humans

To follow the Prime Minister's direction in Official Letter No. 167/TTg-NN of February 5, 2020 on proactive prevention of influenza A (H5N1) epidemic in poultry and humans; Emergency Telegram No. 735/CD-BNN-TY of February 3, 2020 of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development focusing on drastically and synchronously implementing measures to prevent and combat bird flu, Provincial People's Committee promulgated Document No. 493/UBND-KT dated February 10, 2020 on proactive prevention and combat of avian influenza A in poultry and humans; asked departments, agencies, units of the province, and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to take the initiative in preventing and combating epidemics.

Accordingly, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development assigned Sub-Department of Livestock, Veterinary and Fisheries to carry out the following contents: Expeditiously perform synchronous measures to prevent and control avian influenza; strengthening supervision, early detection, timely handling of poultry disease outbreaks and timely notification to the health authorities when outbreaks are detected in poultry; reviewing and grasping the livestock situation, especially for small-scale farms and households that fails to ensure biosecurity; well implementing vaccination and additional vaccination according to age; strengthening inspection and supervision activities of the cross-sectoral inspection team and collaborating with People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to strictly control the trading, slaughtering, transportation of poultry; directing veterinary stations to regularly check and instruct poultry farms to regularly detoxify and disinfect breeding facilities, instruct in biosafety breeding.
