Rapid tracing needs focusing in Thu Dau Mot city
At the meeting of the delegation with the Standing Party Committee of Thu Dau Mot City in the morning of July 16, Mrs. Nguyen Thu Cuc, Chairwoman of People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Thu Dau Mot city, said that until morning of July 16, the city recorded 534 Covid-19 infection cases, of which, 90 were in the community and 487 in production and business establishments. The city recorded 2 deaths in the treatment area. Currently, the health sector has investigated and traced 1,648 F1 contacts for concentrated quarantine and 5,863 F2 contacts to be isolated at home. The city has also temporarily zoned 39 areas in 14 wards with 1,979 households, 6 kiosks, 803 motel rooms, and 12,334 people.  The city has set up 145 checkpoints for disease prevention and control.

According to Mrs. Cuc, currently, the city's medical staff and frontline forces are overloaded, requiring additional support to improve the ability to screen on a large scale.  Traditional markets were closed and operations were restricted, leading to an increase in people's demand for essential goods, putting great pressure on the supermarkets and convenience store networks. The city has suggested that private medical facilities, when detecting a positive case through rapid testing, should directly contact the provincial Center for Disease Control for testing. When the test results are available, the unit will directly transfer the suspected case to the treatment facility and notify the city Health Center for trace investigation in a bid to shorten the time and processes.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi noted that Thu Dau Mot city needs to focus on fast tracing, epidemiological investigation, and taking samples for rapid testing to identify F0 and F1 contacts to be sent away to quarantine and treatment areas. The city needs to focus on mobilizing resources to focus on epidemiological investigation and sampling. In particular, the city needs to add at least 200 youth volunteers to be trained and quickly join the forces to take samples for testing for all city residents. The city also needs to deploy mobile teams to residential areas and hostels to collect samples for testing, thereby, limiting related problems.

Previously, the delegation of the provincial Party Committee went to check the situation of Covid-19 prevention and control along with production and business activities at Dong A Joint Stock Company at Thu Dau Mot branch. At the site, on behalf of the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi highly appreciated the company's organization and arrangement of safe production plans for Covid-19 prevention and control. Acknowledging the efforts of the enterprise, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi wished that the workers would join hands and accompany the enterprise to stay in the factories to work, even though the conditions cannot be as complete as at home.
