Tree-planting festival to be eternally grateful to Uncle Ho launched

A ceremony to launch the 2017 provincial tree-planting festival with the theme of “Forever grateful to Uncle Ho” was organized at Bau Bang district’s Military Command on the morning of May 19 on the occasion of the 127th anniversary of Uncle Ho’s birthday (May 19, 1980-May 19, 2017) and the 57th anniversary of the tree-planting movement launched by Uncle Ho for the first time (1959-2017).

Attending the event were Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Standing Party Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Nguyen Hoang Chau, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chief of provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Commission together with officials, civil servants, armed forces, Youth Union members and pupils in the district.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr.Dung said that Binh Duong has boosted the local modernization and industrialization process towards a civilized-prosperous and nice city with the lives of people improved. In the situation, the province needs to pay attention to the issues of environmental protection, biodiversity conservation and climate change for sustainable development. The whole province has so far planted millions of green trees. Most industrial and urban zones in the province have ensured the ratio of green trees as stipulated, actively contributing to the local task of protecting ecological environment.

After the ceremony, delegates, pupils and students planted 127 green trees at the district’s Military Command.

*TDM city yesterday also held a ceremony to launch the 2017 tree-planting festival to be eternally grateful to Uncle Ho on the occasion of the 127th anniversary of his birthday (May 19, 1980-May 19 ,2017) and in accordance with his teachings: “Spring is a tree planting festival”, “For the sake of 10 years' benefit, we must plant trees; for the sake of 100 years' benefit, we must cultivate human being”.

After the ceremony, leaders of the city and locals participated in planting more than 500 green trees. The city is expected to plant nearly 4,000 green trees this year.

The same day, Phu Cuong ward in TDM city also launched the 2017 tree-planting festival in memory of Uncle Ho on the occasion of the 127th anniversary of Uncle Ho, with a “youth flower garden” work on Dinh Bo Linh street at the section before the old headquarters of the ward’s People’s Committee to Bach Dang junction and Ong Dach canal.

*Early May 19, Phu Giao district held a ceremony to launch the 2017 tree-planting festival on the occasion of the 127th anniversary of Uncle Ho’s birthday (May 19, 1890-May 19, 2017).

At the ceremony, To Van Dat, Vice-Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee affirmed the importance of tree planting and afforestation, contributing to protecting the environment, minimizing climate change and creating harmony between human beings and nature.

Since being reestablished, the whole district has planted more than 137,000 forest trees with the survival rate of more than 95%.

*On the morning of the same day, Di An town’s People’s Committee also organized a ceremony to launch the 2017 tree-planting festival in celebration of Uncle Ho’s 127th birthday.

At the ceremony, Tran Van Thay, Vice-Chairman of Di An town’s People’s Committee called on individuals, households, agencies, schools…to actively follow Uncle Ho’s teachings “For the sake of 10 years' benefit, we must plant trees; for the sake of 100 years' benefit, we must cultivate human being”.

Leaders of the town, Youth Union members and locals also participated in planting 127 perfume trees on Dao Duy street in Dong Hoa ward.
