U23 Vietnam to compete in Thailand

 Vietnam’s U23 team will compete in the international friendly football tournament the M-150 Cup 2017 in Thailand on December 9-15.

The event will feature six U23 teams from Myanmar, Uzbekistan, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Thailand, Japan and Vietnam.

Vietnam are in Group B alongside Thailand and Myanmar, while Group A consists of Japan, the DPRK and Uzbekistan. They will compete in a round robin format. The top two teams will advance to the final.

The winner will walk away with US$20,000.

Vietnam will meet the hosts Thailand on December 9 at I-Mobile stadium in Buriram in their opening game.

In other news, the Vietnam Football Federation will officially sign a contract with coach Park Hang-seo of the Republic of Korea on October 11. He will take charge of the national team and the U23s.
