VND99.9billion spent on assisting poor and near-poor households

Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA) in the first half of 2017 spent VND99.9billion on supporting poor, near-poor households and those just escaping poverty from State budget and many other resources.

Particularly, provincial DoLISA supported electricity for 3,620 poor households, built and upgraded 54 “great unity” houses with more than VND3.2billion; provided 559 poor, near-poor households and 2,825 ones just escaping poverty with more than VND73billion in loan; granted health insurance cards to 21,953 poor, near-poor people and those just escaping poverty; gave school free reduction and exemption for 1,609 poor pupils, students with a total expense of VND757.5million…

Provincial DoLISA also coordinated with districts, towns and TDM city to oversee the implementation of policies for poor and near-poor households; held dialogues with 18 communes and wards having the highest rate of poor households, absorbing the participation of around 2,000 poor and near-poor households; opened a training course on pilot survey for poor and near-poor households under the province’s new poverty line in Dau Tieng district’s Thanh Tuyen commune and Thuan An town’s An Thanh ward.
