On the occasion of the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2019, a delegation of Binh Duong province’s military, civil administration and Party visited and offered gifts to border soldiers in Binh Phuoc province; shared difficulties with women in border areas of the province.

10 years of sentimental border

On the last Tet festival, Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, Chairwoman of provincial Women’s Union led a delegation to visit and present gifts to soldiers and people at border posts with difficult circumstances in Binh Phuoc province. Particularly, the delegation extended best regards and Tet greetings to soldiers on duty at Binh Phuoc provincial Border Guard Command and Thanh Hoa border post in Bu Dop district in the province.

It is known that Binh Phuoc provincial Border Guard Command and Binh Duong provincial Women’s Union signed a cooperation program on national sovereignty protection and border security during the period of 2009 and 2018. Accordingly, Binh Duong provincial Women’s Unions at all levels together with border units under the program to visit and present gifts to soldiers, organize cultural-sports activities on Tet and great holidays; mobilize sisters to well realize military rear tasks and main ones of the military…

The above activities have made sectors, authorities, mass organizations at all levels and people to obviously know the significance of the National Border Day, the tradition of border guards, border areas and national sovereignty; raised public awareness of cadres and people on border areas; contributed to promoting a program on mobilizing women to take part in defending national sovereignty and border security for the period of 2018-2022.

“Accompanying women in border areas”

Mrs.Hong said that under the program of “Accompanying women in border areas” launched by the Central Committee of Vietnam Women’s Union and the High Command of Border Guard, over the past 10 years, provincial Women’s Union in coordination with Binh Phuoc provincial Border Guard Command built and donated 21 houses of compassion to poor cadres, members and people in border areas of the province with a total expense of more than VND460million; provided free medical check-ups, medicine and gifts for 1,100 policy beneficiary and poor households in border areas of the province with a total value of VND770million; offered gifts worth VND675million to needy pupils…

Binh Duong provincial Women’s Union also regularly shared experience in production, helping women in border areas actively work, take part in the shift of animal and plant structure in line with each locality’s conditions, contributing to improving people’s lives…On the occasion of the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2018, provincial Women’s Union mobilized Kim Oanh Real Estate Joint Stock Company to present 100 gifts worth VND600,000 each to 100 people with difficult circumstances in Thanh Binh township’s Thanh Hoa commune in Bu Dop district. This expressed the solidarity between Binh Duong province and units in border areas of Binh Phuoc province while sharing a warm spring with needy households in border areas of the nation.

She added that “Accompanying women in border areas” was one of activities to share difficulties with women in border areas, helping them rise up in life while upholding the solidarity between the Women’s Unions of Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces over periods…
