World Technopolis Association 2018 – global foundation for membership cooperation

The World Technopolis Association (WTA) 2018 is going to be held in Binh Duong on marking the 20^th anniversary of WTA establishment, marking the success and prestige as well as affirming international position of Binh Duong upon being an official member of WTA. The upcoming conference shall establish new visions for operations in the next decade of WTA, establishing the global foundation for exchanges and cooperation in terms of science and technologies among members.

Strengthening co-operation

Over the past years, Binh Duong has made great strides in the strategy of socio-economic breakthrough, building and developing a smart city based on the model of "three houses" (State-House school - entrepreneur). Over the past 10 years, Binh Duong Province and Daejeon City, South Korea have established and built a sisterly relationship, linking science-technology research, exchanging experts and cooperation. Strategic development of Binh Duong aims towards a smart city and innovation. At the same time, Binh Duong and Daejeon have implemented a number of cooperation programs in the fields of health, education, culture and society and promoted the investment of Korean enterprises in Binh Duong. From here, Daejeon has introduced and co-operated with Binh Duong, as well as supporting Binh Duong to host the upcoming WTA 2018.

To promote the implementation of Binh Duong Intelligent City Project, to build Binh Duong into a smart, modern and sustainable urban area, in August 2018 Binh Duong province officially joined the WTA. On this occasion, Binh Duong Province officially signed the Agreement with the Daejeon City Government to co-host the 11th WTA General Assembly on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the WTA.

In fact, the WTA and its members pursue the same core values, as well as general models of socio-economic development, which typically represent the "three" model towards smart cities. Therefore, the breakthrough achievements of Binh Duong towards the city of intelligent innovation has been WTA interest, collaborative research. Binh Duong becomes an official member of the WTA, and the determination to build Binh Duong into a smart city will be a motive, an opportunity, an important premise to build Binh Duong province into a civilized and modern city of sustainable development in the coming time.

Affirming international status

The WTA 2018 in Binh Duong is a very special event for both WTA and Binh Duong. On this occasion, WTA will celebrate its 20th anniversary, marking the success and prestige of the organization in the world, and will discuss setting new visions for its operation in the next decade of the WTA. With Binh Duong, being chosen to host the summit confirmed the international status of the province, right after being officially admitted to the WTA.

According to the plan, Binh Duong will welcome leaders of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and more than 100 WTA members representing mayors, presidents of universities and research institutes, Business leaders from more than 50 countries and territories. It is planned that the WTA 2018 Summit will take place in a series of sessions - Mayor's Conference, University-Research Leaders Meeting, WTA members, including the Innovation Forum. created jointly by UNESCO, WTA, Daejeon City and Binh Duong Province. At the conference, there will also be a hi-tech exhibition for science and technology enterprises from all over the world. The Smart City Initiative will be held in both Vietnam and Korea.

The 11th WTA General Assembly, High-tech Fair and Global Innovation Forum in 2018 celebrated the 20th anniversary of the WTA's founding in Binh Duong. to share experiences in developing sustainable scientific cities and managing scientific cities in the world with the theme of "smart cities as a driving force for innovation for sustainable development. " These events will make important connections in the process of globalization, helping Binh Duong province to approach advanced technologies to build and develop, enhance the management capacity, scientific - contributing to the implementation of Binh Duong Intelligent City Project and helping Binh Duong to become the leading place in building a smart city in Southeast Asia.

In addition, the above events also contribute to promoting friendly relations in many fields between Binh Duong and Deajeon City in the construction of a smart city; Help the province broadcast the brand Binh Duong with international partners, members of WTA in the world, introduce the potential and opportunities to attract foreign investment into the province. This is also an opportunity for Binh Duong and its partners to exchange, exchange, connect and access to advanced science and technology, as well as experience in building and developing smart cities.
