WTA holds central role in creating foundation for scientific urban areas

In the afternoon of October 12, the Global Innovation Forum 2018 will continue with a series of events, including: innovation systems for urbanization and urban science; create new industrial and economic activity from the foundation of science; Taiwan's experience in building commerce and innovative start-up eco-systems. Then, the round table and the closing ceremony of the Global Innovation Forum 2018 will be continued. The conference was presided over by Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. May-Daejeon, Mayor of Daejeon, President of the World Association of Science Towns, together with representatives of UNESCO, institutes, schools in and outside the country.

The sessions focused on substantive and practical content, enabling us to look at the smart city more radically from the perspective of building and upgrading the innovation system. On the other hand, we also look at the basic entities and institutions of the innovation system, such as real spaces, eco-systems, industrial enterprises and science and technology; presents the process of research and technological innovation in industrial and economic development in several countries and regions in Europe and Asia.

Speaking at the meeting, Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee stressed that after 2 positive working days, 7 official meetings of the forum, Binh Duong have summarized many valuable experiences, Strengthen the relationship of friendship and cooperation between Binh Duong and other localities in the WTA community. During the discussions, leaders of Binh Duong Province realized that more effort should be made to find out specific solutions for building a smart city in line with the conditions and circumstances of Binh Duong, especially the issues of resources, infrastructure, the impact of mechanical population growth on smart city building process and especially the awareness of the people and authorities in building the city Intelligent.

The roundtable was the final session of the Global Innovation Forum 2018, where participants discussed the contents of previous sessions. At the same time frank discussion, sharing of views, advantages and disadvantages in the forum, especially the specific proposals to ensure the coordination, connection and support programs, cooperation is favorable and successful, all for the purpose of bringing people a bright future. At the end of the roundtable, delegates discussed the WTA's joint statement laying the groundwork for further developments in the association, continuing to affirm the WTA as an international organization, centered in providing the foundation for urban science.
