Young Workers’Week: Practical care for young workers

In response to the Vietnam Workers’ Month and the 14th povincial Youth Workers' Week 2021, provincial Youth Union has instructed its branches to continue  accompanying young workers at industrial parks and lodging facilities, contributing to improving their material and spiritual lives.

Since early May, provincial Youth Union has motivated a program named “Bus giving strength to young workers” at lodging facilities, giving gifts for young workers with difficult circumstances and paying gratitude to prioprietors with efforts in  supporting young workers. Tran Bao Lam, Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union said: “One of the highlights to be done during the Vietnam Workers’Month and the 14th provincial Young Workers’ Week 2021 is a series of 65 thematic journeys with such significant as visiting and donating gifts to young workers with difficult circumstances at lodging facilities. In addition, provincial Youth Union will coordinate with relevant units to organize healthcare activities for young workers; mobilize social resources to offer gifts to young workers and young workers’offspring at lodging facilities or in social housing areas in the province. Provincial Youth Union has also instructed its branches to focus on propaganda against epidemics, law dissemination and activities taking care of laborers”.

During the Workers’ Month, provincial Youth Union will visit lodging facilities, offering gifts to needy workers

Provincial Youth Unions at all levels will organize “giving strength” programs, offer financial support to young people living away from home, honor outstanding  young workers; mobilize businesses and donors to give gifts for workers with difficult circumstances and establish model lodging facilities; donate "dream” rooms to needy worker youngers... In addition, they will also actively make dissemination of information about the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure among workers. Amid the complicated development of Covid-19 pandemic, provincial Youth Unions at all levels have strengthened propaganda about the "5K" message of the Ministry of Health among laborerd at lodging facilities. They have also made propaganda, raising workers’awareness of proactively detecting cases of illegal entry and those returning from pandemic-hit area without implementing concentrated isolation in order to notify them to functional agencies for timely settlement, preventing the risk of pandemic infection in the community ...

Possibly speaking, activities during the Workers’ Month and Young Workers’ Week will arouse patriotism, a sense of responsibility in building up Vietnamese working class, contributing to promoting the role of workers in the local socio-economic development. They also help promote the task of unitting and gathering young workers, especially ones at non-State enterprises.

Here are some targets set out by provincial Youth Unions at all levels during Vietnam Workers’ Month and 14th povincial Youth Workers' Week 2021:

-100% of the Youth Unions of districts, towns and cities will coordinate with relevant departments and sectors to organize specific and practical activities.

-100% of the Youth Unions of districts, towns and cities, provincial Agency-Business Bloc and 2 rubber companies will honor typical young workers; build a recreational area for children or organize a playground for young workers’offspring.

-100% of the Youth Unions of districts, towns and cities, provincial Agency-Business Bloc, 2 rubber companies, provincial Police Agency, and Military Command will organize practical support activities, including giving gifts, scholarships, charity houses, “red scarf” houses ... for young workers and their offspring. Each unit will strive to get at least 50 workers’children or young workers with difficult circumstances supported.

-100% of the Youth Unions of districts, towns and cities will mobilize owners of the lodging facilities to achieve “youth model lodging facility” criteria.

-100% of the Youth Unions of districts, towns and cities, provincial Agency-Business Bloc will strive to set up at least one Youth Union and one association within non-State enterprises.
