"Green Summer" is a youth movement that has been familiar to students in Binh Duong. When participating in this activity, students become enthusiastic voluntary soldiers, carried out many meaningful activities, helped people in remote, disadvantaged areas.

Voluntary students of Binh Duong University are in Tan Binh commune (Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh province).

Being close to the people

In the Green Summer campaign 2019, voluntary students of universities and colleges in the province participated in voluntary activities in many localities in and outside the province. Although their clothes were dirty and sweaty, the sun and wind were fierce, they were very happy as seeing completed works and the smiles of children receiving gifts. During the green summer, they were comrades, took care of, shared, and helped each other to build the homeland.

As a provincial volunteer team in Tho Chu commune (Phu Quoc district, Kien Giang province), students of Thu Dau Mot University heightened their spirit. Tho Chu is the pre-eminent island of the Southwest Sea of Vietnam, and the place where meaningful activities of these students took place. During six days on this island, the weather was harsh with prolonged rain, a few soldiers were sick, but with the help of local people, the soldiers brought many encouraging results. Together they carried out a project for Tho Chu Kindergarten, cleaned the coast, fishing port area and residential areas... On Tho Chu island, Binh Duong Provincial Youth Union and young soldiers offered incense to Uncle Ho's temple; presented 10 computer sets to the 152th Regiment and organized free medical examination and medicine distribution for people on this island.

In this summer, Thu Dau Mot University also sent a volunteer team to Quang Truc commune (Tuy Duc district, Dak Nong province). Young soldiers on the front in Quang Truc commune were really happy when pupils of free classes understand lessons. In addition to teaching 2 free classes, young soldiers also clean up Quang Truc border area, organized games to help children here be more confident, and gave gifts to people having difficult circumstances. There was also a voluntary team in Loc Ninh commune (Duong Minh Chau district, Tay Ninh province), 20 soldiers from Thu Dau Mot University, after 15 days, lit 500m of countryside roads, presented 3 clean wells to disadvantaged households, 6 water filtering systems, organized summer activities for children, and participated in environmental protection activities. These students tried their best to bring a meaningful summer to people here.

To study and to practice

In a boisterous atmosphere, 20 volunteer soldiers of Binh Duong University performed many works in Bu Gia Map district (Binh Phuoc province). With the enthusiasm and dynamism of youth, overnearly 10 days in Tan Binh commune (Tan Bien, Tay Ninh), a team of 30 students of the university implemented many practical projects for people here. The students started every new day with a folk dance, team games help local children to be united, sociable, and healthier, and then gave them lessons.

Tay Ninh is sunny and windy. But all the hardships were dispelled when young volunteers finished their tasks. The enthusiasm and beautiful ambition of volunteer students painted a beautiful picture of summer young volunteer campaign of Binh Duong in 2019.

In the voluntary Green Summer campaign and the journey "Binh Duong Youth act for islands and homeland" in 2019, Standing Committee of Provincial Youth Union, Provincial Students’ Association, and colleges, universities in the province carried out many projects with a total value of 1,130,000,000 VND. Highlights were activities of repairing houses for 5 lonely families in Phu Quy island district (Binh Thuan), Bu Gia Map district (Binh Phuoc); presented 2,000 notebooks, 2,000 comic books to children in Bu Gia Map district (Binh Phuoc), Tan Bien district (Tay Ninh), 20 gifts and scholarships to children in Tho Chu island commune (Kien Giang); implemented 6 rural lighting projects 6km long in Tho Chu island commune (Kien Giang), Tan Bien district (Tay Ninh), Tri Ton district (An Giang), Phu Giao district, Bau Bang district; 3 friendship houses in Tho Chu island commune (Kien Giang), Suoi Ngo commune (Tan Chau, Tay Ninh), Bu Gia Map district (Binh Phuoc); built a bridge in Hon Quan district (Binh Phuoc) and many other significant works.
