Youths in TDM city train morality, talent; take voluntary, creative actions

TDM city’s Youth Union organizes its 11^th congress for the 2017-2022 tenure today, April 19. This is an important political event of the local youths, aiming to review the five-year implementation of the resolution of the 2012-2017 tenure and devise orientations, tasks for the new tenure.

Volunteer

TDM city’s Youth Union task and teenagers-children’s movements gained major results from voluntary campaigns, namely, “Voluntary spring”, “Summer youth volunteer”, “Giving strength in exam season”, “Voluntary Saturday”, “Green Sunday”…in the last tenure.

Noticeably, the local youths carried out free services for visitors on the occasion of the annual Thien Hau Lady Temple Festival. The city’s Youth Union also promoted programs on civilized urban construction among members, actively contributing to building up a civilized and modern city.

For the sentimental attachment to remote islands, border areas

One of significant activities done by youths in the city over the past time was the movement of “One salary day for national border areas-TDM city’s youths take action for homeland sea, islands”. Accordingly, since 2013, the movement has mobilized VND271million from the local youths to carry out works in and out of the province.

Particularly, the city’s Youth Union held a delegation to visit, award 25 scholarships together with 1,100 notebooks to poor-but-excellent pupils and Agent Orange ones in Quang Binh province. The local Youth Union also presented 2 laptops to the Border Post 184; upgraded bridges, roads and provided free medical check-ups, medicine for people and soldiers at the Border Post 799 in Binh Phuoc province’s Loc Ninh district; donated VND20million to construction of a work “Joining hands to building new-style rural areas” in Binh Phuoc province’s Binh Long town; teamed up with provincial Youth Union to award 50 scholarships to privileged children on Phu Quy island in Binh Thuan province; supported VND20million for a “Lighting rural road” work in North Tan Uyen district…

Accompanying young workers

In the last tenure, the city’s Youth Union set up 171 sub-unions for young workers, 19 sub-unions for alien youths and 2 model lodging facilities.

The city’s Youth Union also took good care of young workers, especially those with difficult circumstances via significant activities, including giving gifts for them on Tet and great holidays. Especially, the city’s Youth Union organized cultural-art activities for young workers; coordinated with the local Women’s Union to kick off a festival for Youth Union members with ample activities; set up and maintained a model of “Nhip cau kien thuc” (Knowledge bridge span); donated “dream” apartments to young workers with difficult circumstances; built entertainment areas for the offspring of young workers…
