With good ways in propaganda and action, young people in Thuan An town have created many obvious changes in environmental protection and civilized urban construction.

From propaganda activities

Last weekend, Thuan An town’s Youth Union held a propaganda program on “Civilized urban street”, absorbing the participation of numerous Youth Union members and locals. Participating in the program, all people got propaganda on civilized urban construction with contents on the real situation of waste at present, the impacts of waste on the environment, each individual’s responsibility to environmental protection.

After being disseminated, representative of 10 households in Lai Thieu ward signed commitments on civilized urban construction. Accordingly, they are responsible for mobilizing other households to take action in civilized urban construction together, especially drop litter in the right place, not encroach on pavement and roads, eradicate illegal advertising boards…

The town’s Youth Union also set up 10 “Volunteer youths for civilized urban area” squads. In addition, the organizing board of the program honored 5 families of Youth Union members winning the title of “outstanding families in civilized urban construction”. Especially the program held an activity on “exchanging waste for gifts”…

As part of activities propagandizing civilized urban lifestyle and minimizing plastic waste in 2019, the town’s Youth Union kicked off the 2019 competition learning about the Law on Environmental Protection under the theme of “Youths in Thuan An with green city”. Outstanding collectives and individuals at the competition were also awarded prizes.

To concrete actions

Under the year’s “Volunteer youth” theme towards the community, contributing to civilized urban construction, the town’s Youth Unions at all levels in 2019 organized “Voluntary Saturday” and “Green Sunday” programs during the Youth Action, summer volunteer youth campaign and in response to the World Environment Day (June 5). Accordingly, many units implemented youth works “for homeland river” with concrete deeds, including cleaning up 1,000 meters of canal in Binh Nham ward; carried out works on “Youths in Thuan An remember Uncle Ho’s testament”, “One golden hour for green space” and donated 200 flowerpots to people on Nguyen Trai street. They also realized “youth flower garden” works; installed 20 wastebaskets in An Thanh ward’s Thanh Loi quarter…

So far, the whole town has had 22 “civilized urban” streets managed by the local Youth Unions. Truong Van Khanh, Vice-Secretary of the town’s Youth Union, Chairman of the town’s Youth Federation said that developing “civilized urban” streets has contributed to building the local civilized urban lifestyle. Along with this, the town’s Youth Unions at all levels also engaged activities in environmental protection for a nice, clean and green city.

Possibly speaking, propaganda work by practical deeds to raise public awareness of environmental protection, minimizing plastic waste and creating a nice, clean and green space is regularly realized by the local young people, thereby upholding their voluntary spirit, contributing to building up a more civilized and modern Thuan An city.
