Di An marks 20th re-establishment anniversary

Early August 21, Di An town’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee grandly held a ceremony to celebrate the 20^th anniversary of re-establishment of the town (August 20, 1999-August 20, 2019).

The event was attended by Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Vo Van Minh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Council; Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; heroic Vietnamese mothers; former leaders of Binh Duong province, HCM city, Dong Nai province, Thuan An, Di An towns…

At the event, delegates reviewed the 20-year development and construction of the town. The town’s economy has so far reached the annual growth of 16%-17%, 81 times higher than 1999, with the average income of the local people at VND130million per person per year. The town’s industrial production value has obtained nearly VND750trillion with the annual growth of 21.37%. Currently, the town is home 33 out of 42 schools at all levels meeting national standards. There are 100% of the local households in use of clean water and national power grid. The town has also paid more attention to “paying debt of gratitude” and “hunger eradication and poverty reduction” tasks with the rate of the local poor households reducing to 0.43% under the province’s new poverty line. Speaking at the event, on behalf of provincial leaders, Mr.Thao expressed his delight at the comprehensive development of the town after 20 years of re-establishment. For better development, according to him, the town needs to strengthen patriotic emulation movements; effective tap the local advantages; continue boosting the shift of the local economic structure towards industrialization and modernization; pay more attention to socio-cultural fields; improve the quality of training and education; well realize public healthcare, poverty reduction, environmental protection, social welfare policies, especially for policy beneficiaries; continue improving mass mobilization of Fatherland Front Committee and other mass organizations, strengthen people’s trust for the Party, contributing to building a pure and powerful political system; have good preparation for the successful organization of grassroots-level Party congress and town-level Party congress for the 2020-2025 tenure.
