Provincial leader receives Lao Ambassador

Early July 7, Tran Van Nam, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation welcomed the Lao Ambassador to Viet Nam Sengphet Houngboungnuang.

At the reception, Mr.Nam briefed the Ambassador of the local socio-economic highlights after more than 20 years of development. So far, the province has attracted nearly US$35billion in FDI capital, ranking third nationwide in FDI attraction (after Ha Noi and HCM city). In the first half of the year, the province well realized the Government’s dual task of fighting the epidemic and ensuring socio-economic development with the growth of 6.73%. The province has also always maintained friendly cooperation with Laos ‘southern localities. Along with the projects of Vietnam-Laos Dau Tieng Rubber Joint Stock Company, the province has actively got involved in social charity activities in Champasak province and neighboring localities. In reply, Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang spoke highly of the robust growth of the province over the past time while thanking the province’s support for Lao people.
