Thuan An, Di An marks 42nd anniversary of Southern Liberation, National Reunification and announce Decisions on recognition of them as third-class cities

On the afternoon of April 27, Thuan An town’s People’s Committee grandly held a get-together to mark the 42^nd anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification (April 30, 1975-April 30, 2017), the International Labor Day (May 1), the 127^th anniversary of Uncle Ho’s birthday and announce a decision on the recognition of the town as a third-class city.

Attending the event were Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Council; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; representatives of departments, sectors and localities in the province; leaders of the town over periods, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of armed forces…

After 42 years of development, Thuan An town has become a main locality in socio-economic development of the province with the annual industrial, trade-services and agricultural production value surging 11.7%, 22% and 1.7%, respectively; the annual State budget collection reaching growth of 8.1%...In 2016 alone, the district’s industrial production and services value increased by 9% and 23.2%, respectively while State budget revenue was more than VND3.2trillion, up 11.17% compared to 2015.

The get-together also announced a decision of the Ministry of Construction on the recognition of Thuan An town as a third-class city. On this occasion, Mr.Liem awarded decisions posthumously bestowing the “heroic mother” title to 5 heroic Vietnamese mothers in the town.

*On the morning of the same day, Di An town’s People’s Committee also organized a get-together to mark the 42^nd anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification (April 30, 1975-April 30, 2017), the International Labor Day (May 1) and announce a decision on the recognition of the town as a third-class city, in attendance of Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

In a warm atmosphere of the get-together, delegates reviewed the glorious revolutionary tradition of Vietnam’s army and people in the cause of national liberation, reunification, construction and defence. After 42 years of development, Di An town has continued being determined to develop into a civilized and modern city.

On this occasion, the town also announced a decision of the Ministry of Construction on the recognition of it as a third-class city.
