Provincial People's Committee, on July 21, issued the Express Plan No. 3346/KH-UBND on the organization of taking samples for large-scale Covid-19 screening by rapid antigen and Realtime-PCR testing methods. Under the plan, within 12 days from July 17, districts, towns and cities will be proactive to take samples for Covid-19 testing on all people.

Taking samples from people in Thanh An commune’s Ben Tranh hamlet in Dau Tieng district for Covid-19 testing on July 17

In this document, provincial People's Committee guides localities to take samples for large-scale Covid-19 testing on all people in pandemic hit areas and high-risk ones such as Di An city, Thuan An city, Thu Dau Mot city, Ben Cat town, Tan Uyen town, Dau Tieng District... Specifically, taking samples for Covid-19 testing will give priority to people living around factories, lodging facilities, markets...

Under the plan, the province will take samples for  PCR  and rapid antigen tests on nearly 1.8 million people.  The province is expected to collect about 428,542 pooled rapid antigen test samples (3 people each) and about 50,392 pooled Realtime-PCR samples (10 people each).

The province’s total cost for large-scale sampling for Covid-19 testing and screening is estimated at around VND 291.2 billion, including VND 285.2 billion for provincial Center for Disease Prevention and Control and nearly VND6 billion for district-level units.

The main human resource for the large-scale Covid-19 testing comprises of medical workers and volunteers from localities. It is expected that the number of district-level sampling teams will be about 350 with about 1,400 members. Meanwhile, there are 400 provincial-level sampling teams,  including medical staff from provincial Center for Disease Prevention and Control and volunteers from Hanoi Medical University, Hai Duong Medical Technology University, Hai Phong Medical University…

In addition, communes, wards and townships where sampling is held also need to be proactive to arrange police forces, militiamen…in order to assist in maintaining security and order so that sampling work is organized quickly and safely.

After the sampling is completed, the units and localities will synthesize samples of Covid-19 antigen rapid and Realtime-PCR testing and transfer them to HCM city-based Viet A Company for analyzing test results.

In order to promptly control and prevent the spread of the pandemic, the health sector and localities have the task of preparing material facilities and forces to be ready for carrying out professional measures after having test results.

The mass testing program on large scale is launched by provincial People's Committee in the context of the number of the local Covid-19 cases on sharp increase in recent days. Statistics  from localities also show that residential areas and factories are facing the risk of being hit seriously by the pandemic.
