In recent days, Vo Thi Kim Chung (in Tan Lap Quarter, Dong Hoa Ward, Di An City) has actively encouraged women in her neighborhood to contribute money or labor to making orange juice for soldiers and police, health workers, staff working in quarantine area at Ho Chi Minh National University's Dormitory. Ms. Chung said: "Forces directly participating in the prevention and fighting against the epidemic work very hard, we just want to contribute small efforts to improve their health and motivation".

Nguyen Thi Hong Phan, Tan Uyen Town Businesswomen Club, also contributed the disease fighting by reducing 100% room rent for 20 lodging rooms, and gave each room a gift of 10kg rice and 2 boxes instant noodles to share difficulties with workers. She said: “Due to the current epidemic situation, many companies face difficulties, workers quit their jobs, it's even more difficult to find new jobs, thus it has a great impact on worker lives. I encouraged them to hold on, wait for the epidemic to end, everything would be fine. In the short term, I reduce 100% room rent this month. In the coming time, if the epidemic lasts long, I will continue to support workers”.

Ms. Chung and Phan are examples of Binh Duong women, in the past few days, who have contributed to fighting against the "Covid-19 enemy", each of their small actions at this time has a great meaning.

Many practical activities

To prevent and fight against the epidemic, Women's Union at all levels carried out communication through delivering leaflets, giving medical masks and hand sanitizers. In addition, women have recently changed their ways corresponding to the current situation. For example, Ben Cat Town Women's Union encouraged women, who are are tailors, housewives in communes and wards sew 13,700 cloth masks at their free time. The Town Women's Union also encouraged 80 lodging house's owners to reduce room rents for workers, on average from 200,000 to VND500,000/room, and 5 owners reduced 100% room rents. Meanwhile, Women's Union of Thu Dau Mot City encouraged students to sew 1,200 medical masks and 1,950 cloth masks; donated 500 safety glasses to the City Health Center; encouraged 80 lodging house's owners to reduce room rents, water bills (from 15 - 50%) and one owner to reduce 100% room rent in 2 months.

In Thuan An City, the city's Women's Union called for their union branches to donate necessities to officers and soldiers of Tan Thanh Border Post (Binh Phuoc Province), including 77 bottles of antiseptic hand gel, 1,450 cloth masks, 500 medical masks, 950kg rice, 180 boxes instant noodles and other necessities. Besides, Women's Union of Thuan An City also encouraged 61 woman officials and members of communes, wards and clubs of green - clean - beautiful environment to help clean up quarantine areas at Vietnam-Singapore Vocational College; encouraged 48 lodging house's owners to reduce from 20-30% room rents. Dau Tieng District Women's Union sewed 21,400 face masks for its members and residents, donated 500 face masks to Phuoc Thien Border Post in Bu Dop District, Binh Phuoc Province ...

Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, Chairwoman of provincial Women's Union, said: “To join hands to prevent and combat Covid-19 epidemic in the next period, provincial Women's Union continues to direct Women's Union at all levels in the province to communicate and encourage women and the people in the province in many forms suitable to the actual situation of their locality and the evolution of the epidemic. In particular, provincial Women's Union requires all its officials and members to stay at home, only to go out in really necessary cases; strictly keep the minimum distance of 2m when communicating; do not gather more than 2 people outside workplace, school, hospital and in public places.

To apply measures to prevent and control Covid-19 epidemic under the guidance of Ministry of Health at weddings and funerals; continue to encourage philanthropists, lodging house's owners, people to reduce rents and provide material supports for vulnerable people to the Covid-19; cooperate with  functional sectors, such as labor, war invalids and social affairs, to grasp the situation of workers in order to promptly motivate and support workers who lose their jobs due to the epidemic; the situation of labor resources at companies to report timely to local leaders for solutions. At the same time, provincial Women's Union continues to strengthen the communication, encourages women and people to be stabilize mentality, do not send so much food to quarantine areas, do not share false information about infected people, unscientific medical treatments and food shortages... "
