Dau Tieng pays attention to taking care of the poor

Dau Tieng district has effectively implemented many groups of measures, helping the poor to rise up out of poverty and stabilize their lives.

Loan support for the poor

Under the local program on poverty reduction and job creation, Dau Tieng district has strengthened loan support for the poor by many different forms such as giving loans without interest rate, supporting nurslings and breeding animals, introducing jobs…, thereby helping them surmount difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Since early 2016, the district-based branch of the Bank for Social Policies has disbursed more than VND121 billion in loan for 4,128 poor and near-poor households to develop production models. The district’s State budget has also provided 171 households with VND26.3million each to develop mother cows. In addition, the district has widely and deeply disseminated policies on industrial-agricultural promotion, healthcare, education, social insurance…among the local poor people.

Thanks to the attention and support of the local government, Do Thi Quy in Dinh An commune and Nguyen Thi Ly in Dau Tieng town have so far risen up out of poverty and stabilized their lives…

Upholding support policies for the poor

Along with creating favorable conditions for poor households to get loans for economic development, Dau Tieng district has also attached special importance to support policies on employment, healthcare, education and housing for them.

The district’s sectors and mass organizations have jointly organized many vocational classes on cooking, sewing, rubber latex-tapping techniques…for hundreds of thousands of rural laborers and demobees. Over the past two years, the district mobilized organizations and individuals to build 111 houses of compassion for the poor with a total expense of more than VND7.2billion.

Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, Vice-Chairwoman of Dau Tieng district’s People’s Committee said that the district’s program on poverty reduction and employment creation has step by step obtained practical results. The number of the local well-off households is increasing while there is a considerable reduction in the number of poor households. The district will further take synchronous solutions, helping the poor rise up out of poverty sustainably. Apart from loan support, job creation, healthcare…, the district’s communes and Dau Tieng township need to pay more attention to legal consultancy and support for the poor.
