Phu Giao celebrates VBA’s 50th founding anniversary

Early April 17, Phu Giao district’s Blind Association held a ceremony to mark the 50^th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Blind Association (VBA) (April 17, 1969-Arpil 17, 2019) and review the 30-year implementation of the Directive No.51-CT/TW of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee dated April 12, 1989.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the tradition of the VBA during the past 50 years. Since its reception in 2002, the district’s Blind Association has always created favorable conditions for members to rise up and integrate into the community. Over the past years, the association made 14,000 brooms and more than 206,000 boxes of bamboo toothsticks with a total value of more than VND300million; coordinated with relevant units to build and upgrade 24 houses for members with a total expense of nearly VND300million. On this occasion, the district’s People’s Committee awarded the certificates of merit to 1 collective and 2 individuals with excellent achievements in realizing the Directive No.51-CT/TW of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee during the past 30 years (photo).
