Province needs over VND6.3trillion for tourism development

The province needs more than VND6.3trillion for tourism development from 2016 to 2020, according to provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

During the 2016-2020 period, the province’s tourism development goal is to get the annual growth of 20%. The province has also attached special importance to preserving land fund for ecological tourism towards FDI attraction into hi-class tourism services. Tourism forms during the period consist of tourism in association in events, shopping, hi-class sports and traditional culture…  

The province will also form up typical tourism compounds, including a southern compound with TDM city, Thuan An and Di An towns. And the southern part of Ben Cat town will focus on developing ecological tourism with traditional craft villages and historical, cultural relics. The northwestern region of the province will concentrate on tourism products visiting Cau mountain, doing sightseeing on Saigon river. Whilst, ecological tourism in association with visiting historical sites will be developed in the eastern region of the province.

In the period of 2011-2015, the number of tourists to Binh Duong reached the average growth of 2.3%. In 2016 alone, the province welcomed 4,39 million tourists, including 205,000 foreign ones, or 100% the year’s plan and up 4.5% compared to 2015. The sector’s total revenue was VND1.2trillion or 100% of the year’s plan and up 7% against 2015.
