Approaching the public for public understanding and help

Upholding the target of understanding the public proactively, Tan Uyen town Party Committee has established working groups to grasp up Covid-19 situation at hamlets and quarters. Accordingly, the model of getting to every corners has been quickly established among the group members to grasp up any situation and recommendations of the public to thereby resolve, help, and remove.

Approaching the public

In order to promote the effectiveness of the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Standing Board of Tan Uyen town Party Committee and the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Tan Uyen town have directed the Party Committee and Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of the Covid-19 epidemic at communes and wards to set up working groups to grasp the situation of Covid-19 epidemic in hamlets and neighborhoods targeting for each hamlet and neighborhood to have at least 3 working groups to grasp the situation of Covid-19 epidemic. In the area of Tan Uyen town, 370 working groups have been established with 1,621 members who are officials of hamlets and neighborhoods, the police force, and military force to protect the population along with volunteers and reinforcements from the province and Tan Uyen town.

By the working motto, the group members have get directly to people’s home to know the developments of Covid-19 locally while listening to recommendations and feedbacks of the residents and working people for timely resolution and help to remove obstacles of enforcing social distancing and “lockdown and freeze” in red zone localities.

The model of getting to every home for information of the public in Tan Uyen town has timely helped people in hardship

Only after 4 days of launching from September 15 to September 19, the groups have directly propagated and visited 114,748 households. They have also approached, visited and encouraged 408,562 people; at the same time, monitored the situation of people in difficult circumstances, thereby, promptly supporting the needy cases with necessities from 398,179 gifts and 23,460 parts of medicine. Typically in Vinh Tan ward, the groups have promptly grasped up the difficulties and recommendations of the people, thereby promptly solving, supporting and removing the persisting problems.

Mr. Doan Minh Tuan, Chairman of Vinh Tan Ward, said that implementing the policy of Tan Uyen Town Party Committee is to "proactively reach out to the people, not wait for them to find help from the authorities", Vinh Tan ward has quickly implemented the formation of approaching households to grasp people's thoughts and aspirations and issues arising in the community for Party committees and authorities to promptly handle and adjust to suit the real situation of local economy, and thereby making an important contribution to the eradication of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Assessing the effectiveness of the working groups, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tri, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Tan Uyen Town Party Committee, said that the working groups grasping the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic is one of the drastic solutions of Tan Uyen town in implementing the tasks of preventing and controlling the Covid-19 epidemic in the town and promoting the effectiveness of the motto of "4 on the spot" and the proactive role of the locality associated with the actual situation of the town and each location.

The working groups have well promoted their roles and tasks in contributing to the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic in the town. The working groups grasping the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic with the motto of getting to every home has brought about efficiency and positive effects in reviewing and unifying the situation and to enumerate the number of households and people residing in the town in a bid to contribute to accurate population management. Thereby, the timely settlement of regimes for employees has been made by listening, answering and quickly supporting the right subjects in cases of food lacking and to coordinate with the health sector to monitor and promptly support treatment drugs and help Covid-19 patients treat their infection at home.

Not leaving anybody behind

However, in order for the working groups to be more effective and achieve the set goals, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tri suggested that the Party Committees and Steering Committees for Covid-19 prevention and control in communes and wards should continue to maintain the establishment of new and regularly strengthened working groups to promote the effectiveness that they have brought to Covid-19 prevention and control in the area.

In the coming time, the working groups will continue to focus on propagating and mobilizing people to well observe the regulations and instructions of the State and competent agencies regarding Covid-19 prevention and control while propagating and mobilizing people to strictly observe the sampling for testing and screening in the community in order to promptly remove all infection and suspected cases from the community; at the same time, they have fully and properly implemented the principles of prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic when taking samples for testing. The groups propagate and mobilize people to participate in vaccination drives while monitoring, reviewing and mobilizing those who have not been vaccinated with the first doses to promptly perform vaccination when eligible. Second doses of vaccination should be urgently administered to achieve optimal health protection during the epidemic when notified.

The groups should continue to review, grasp and keep abreast of the fluctuations and changes (if any) of the population in the areas; to coordinate the management and timely settlement of regimes and policies for employees and people in difficulties to ensure that "no one is left behind" during the Covid-19 epidemic; to promptly guide, answer and remove the obstacles and problems for the people, absolutely not letting the frustrations and difficulties persist or go unresolved.
